I took the day off from work today to meet ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) stokerbramwell, razzek and their friend David. I had the honor of guiding them to various touristy fun things in Seattle, as it was their first real time visiting the city.
I had been chatting with Stoker for a while over aim and he was equally sweet in person. Razz I thought was adorable and liked immediately. I felt completely at ease, as if I'd known them for a much longer time.
I took them to see Gameworks (a relatively fancy arcade), and then Pike's Place Market, where Stoker vanished into the magic shop, while the rest of us browsed Golden Age Collectibles. Then we went down to the pier to visit Pirate's Plunder and Ye Olde Curiosity Shop, and then headed into Chinatown to see Uwajimaya and the Kinokuniya Bookstore.
At the bookstore, I was (as always seems to happen every time I go in there) sorely tempted by a new artbook. This time it was Lord of Vermilion, which is actually two books full of nothing but some of the best monster/humanoid fantasy creature art I have ever seen. I refrained from buying only to see if I could find it offered cheaper online first. The "White" book is the one I liked more and want to get.
In all, a very fun day. :D |
